Is it advisable to have your child in a Pediatric Extended Care Prescription Center (PPEC)

Updated: Mar 7, 2022

Many times we ask ourselves whether or not to take our children to a PPEC, because in this blog we will help you better understand what it is about and if our beloved little ones qualify for these benefits.

The first thing we must understand is a PPEC

Pediatric Extended Care Prescribing Centers for its acronym in English PPEC, are nothing more than centers designed to improve the development and independence of each child, providing the highest quality care and improving their health while promoting optimal results.

What qualifies a child for the PPEC program?

Children from birth to age 20 with medically complex conditions that require continuous nursing care, including but not limited to:

Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Seizure Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury, Congenital Cardiac Malformations, Muscular Dystrophy, Complications of Prematurity, Gastric Tube Feeding, Bronchial Asthma, Diabetes Mellitus, Cystic Fibrosis, Tracheostomy

Main services that can be found:

  • Pediatric Nursing Care

  • Physical Therapy

  • Speech Therapy

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Contactable Doctor

  • Nutritional Food Program (breakfast, lunch and snack)

  • Among others

The PPECs are born with higher quality standards every day, their main purpose is to guarantee effective care for your child and thus maximize the quality of family life.

RESUME

After analyzing each aspect of the PPEC, we can conclude that if our children have a medical condition and are not older than 20 years, then it is the right place for them to be cared for and treated by dedicated professionals dedicated to their well-being.

Our center

At Magical Dreams Academy PPEC we strive every day to exceed the expectations of our parents in the care of their children, our main objective is to achieve real goals of improvement both emotionally, academically and physically.

Future

We are organizing a craft program to highlight their main skills in them so that they also feel their small but valuable contribution to society.
